🚀 First Release Notes

We've been hard at work making Permit Guide better based on your feedback. Over the past few weeks, we've rolled out updates big and small to help make the app better for everyone. Here are the highlights, and you can see all the details in the change log below:

We’ve improved the chatbot experience by:

  • Enhancing citations in AI generated responses by prioritizing citing codes as sources and persisting citations for improved traceability.

  • Increasing the quality of AI generated responses with under-the-hood improvements to reference more data sources and previous responses.

  • Adding the ability to give follow up instructions to improve the original AI generated response.

We’ve also improved the app experience by:

  • Adding deeper analytics capabilities around user sessions and chat usage

  • Adding filtering, exporting, and sorting capabilities across different pages and tables

📦 Version 1.1.2 – released June 2, 2025

What's new

  • Chatbot messages persist citations, improving traceability of source content.

  • You can now export feedback entries from email, chat, and customer modules to CSV files for easier sharing and analysis.

  • Admins can access new reports to view login activity, session duration, and user status.

  • Tables across the app now look and behave more consistently, making data easier to read and navigate.

Fixes and improvements

  • Fixed an issue where collapsing the sidebar sometimes redirected to the wrong menu.

  • Restored chart export functionality that previously failed to trigger.

  • Resolved a broken section under chatbot user management where actions weren’t working.

  • Improved internal monitoring of Chatbot responses.

  • Infrastructure updates that help our team debug and resolve frontend issues.

What's new

  • Chatbot citations are now tailored for code-specific queries, improving citation quality.

  • Admins now have access to detailed user activity reports, including session duration, login history, and filters by tenant and date.

  • Internal chat usage metrics are now displayed in the analytics dashboard for better visibility.

  • Profile pages now support job titles and email signatures.

  • Automated replies from the email assistant now include personalized signatures.

Fixes and improvements

  • Fixed an issue where usage dashboard charts we displaying incorrect data.

  • Fixed issues where sidebar citations weren’t persisting or displaying correctly.

  • Feedback highlights in the chat sidebar now appear as expected.

What's new

  • We’ve added new data sources from municipal code and permit documents.

  • Feedback tables across chat, email, and customer sections have been redesigned for easier reading and filtering.

  • Admins can now sort by submission date, filter by user and status, and delete feedback directly.

  • User names are now displayed in "First Last" format for better clarity.

Fixes and improvements

  • Data views now correctly show tenant-specific feedback.

  • Cleaned up visual inconsistencies like header alignment in tables.

Behind the scenes

  • Disabled speech-to-text in production to improve reliability.

  • Integrated Sentry monitoring across the app and backend for better error visibility.

  • Added support over 20 new city and state building code documents.

What's new

  • You can now give follow-on instructions to the email assistant to modify the original response

  • Speech-to-text is now available in the chat assistant for hands-free input.

  • Chat feedback tables now support sorting, filtering, and pagination for easier navigation.

Fixes and improvements

  • Fixed system messages that were not appearing when expected.

  • Corrected thread mismatches in the chat assistant.

  • Added helpful prompts like “Press Enter to send” and streamlined password reset steps.

  • Improved AI response quality by using message history and chat memory.


📦 Version 1.0.5 – released May 14, 2025

What's new

  • Chat feedback now shows the latest entries first for faster access.

  • Email templates for verification and password resets have been improved.

  • For Bellevue users, city dropdowns now only show local options.

Fixes and improvements

  • Improved timeout handling and prevented errors during chat sessions.

  • Fixed disappearing messages, layout glitches, and grouped duplicate citations for clarity.

  • Addressed broken UI in email assistant and data sources views.

Behind the scenes

  • Cleaned up some infrastructure and squashed some bugs that were causing crashes.

  • Cleaned up sidebar displays.

  • Fixed email routing bugs affecting new users and password resets.
